One Step Closer

It's over. I mean, school's over. I just had my graduation rehearsals two days in a row and I can feel graduation is coming closer to me. I can't wait for it, honestly. The entire rundown seems to be playing in my imagination and I can see myself standing in front of the entire audience, receiving the medal, certificate, and handshakes. I hope I don't get my usual stage fever like I usually do. One step closer to the university life.

Three days ago, my parents gave me such a beautiful and useful presents. I've been longing for this for quite a long time, and I thought it's only a dream to own it. That day, I believe it was Sunday, I was out with my mother for Kebaya hunting, which is for my graduation. After we done our search, she drove me to a much-well-known stationery store in Jakarta and bought me my dreams.

She bought me a set of copic! And bunches of useful art books to keep me living in the sphere of art that I love so much. I couldn't describe how grateful I am. My mom says: "Do your best for your university life. I wish you all the best. Keep chasing your dreams. Be a good example for your family, community, and your nation."

"Yes, I will, and I do." I replied. It's just the end of my high school life, but yeah, an ending means a new beginning. I am one step closer to the university life.

Philo-Sophie

I'm in love. Yes, I am. With this new reading that I just started a few days ago. Introducing Dunia Sophie, as known as Sophie's World or Sophie Verden in the original version. I knew this book from my English classmate, Bagas (click here for his blog. P.S: His English are hellish. Make sure to bring a dictionary while reading his blog.) when he present it in front of the class. I was not-giving-a-f-ish while listening to him, until he said that this novel is talking about the A to Z of philosophy. Honestly, I'm trying to understand this subject in many kind of media, but I just can't. (maybe my brain is just rejecting it. Duh, understanding it is a hard work.)

It was long ago before I have a much time to read some nice novels. And Thank God, it's long holiday already (before some graduation rehearsals) and I decided to have one in a local bookstore. Initially, I would like to buy the English version, but since it was 800-ish pages (or less in the original version), it must be costing so much money. Duh. Anyway, I still got the book, tho.

Psychology Village Mading Competition

Hi! Just want to tell you a story right now that I recently found the documentations of Mading competition that I joined with my two friends a couple weeks ago. The competition was held as a part of an event on my future university (re: Universitas Pelita Harapan) by the faculty of psychology. After of series of discussions, agony, and suffering, we decided to make the Mading as the following:

It's Been A Hard Day's Night

Two posts in a row! Woo-hoo! Usually it takes weeks to find some new ideas on what should I write on my blog, and to determine a new idea of an artwork. But this is instant. I think this won't last too much longer because first, for the next few months, a new routine will begin. It's the university life you know. My life as a designer wannabe (hyped). Second, I'm in euphoria mode for not blogging for a long period. Exam was torturing. I can't even breath properly at that time (hyperbole, again), but it's now over. Watch out, temporary freedom, I'm rushing through you.

The artworks below are made yesterday, and continued today. I got the inspiration from The Beatles' 'A Hard Day's Night' which clearly pictures what it's like to be... Tired.

The song. I can't believe it's almost 50 years ago when they made this movie and I, a 00s girl, still watching this. P.S: I'm a hardcore Beatlemania.

Bad news for me to know that my school doesn't allow us the twelfth grader to take any break after the national exam. Even the school sent our parents an email that states the school activity will be ultimately end on May 17th. Man, that's too much long. The more bad news is, we're going to school for nothing. Literally nothing. Sitting around like we have nothing else to do. This is uncool.

One thing that I want to ask to my dearest school: Why we should rush things at the beginning of semester two but in the end we've got nothing else to do?

Another Hello

A photo that I love so much, taken in 2011.

Yeah. So this is it. This is my final decision to renew my blog, change my concept of blogging, and what should I write in my blog. Is it my blog looks more simple? I love simplicity, and as time goes by, people was right that the older people are, they tend to be more simpler. Isn't that true? The only thing that won't change is my fondness of bright colors such as orange and yellow. All hail orange and yellow!

I changed my blog name. Did you notice that I used to hate my middle name, Novreica? Well, it was long ago, the world was younger than today when I thought Novreica was a silly name. "Whoever named this is lunatic," I thought. All of my family members call me "Rei", which is taken from that middle name and I was like, "Oh my, I'm not even a Japanese! This is horrible!" Then, the first time I hear my middle name is kind of cool when my Physics teacher started to call my middle name. I think he likes it. My friend says it is a cool name, one of a kind. Well, these things change me a lot, and I guess God makes me want to love my name.
